Former Indian wicketkeeper Kiran Mor has tested positive for COVID-19, Mumbai Indians said on Tuesday. The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise said in an official statement, “Mumbai Indians scout and wicket-keeping consultant Mr. Kiran Mor has tested positive for Kovid-19.” “Mr. More is currently asymptomatic and isolated. Mumbai Indians and Kiran More have all followed the BCCI’s health guidelines,” he said. He said that his medical team would continue to monitor Mor’s health and follow the BCCI protocol.

The IPL is the latest to test positive for coronovirus with the set of 2021 starting in less than a week. Delhi Capitals all-rounder Axar Patel tested positive for the virus last week, while it was revealed on Sunday that Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Devdutt Padikkal is visiting his home after testing positive on March 22.
Several members of the ground staff and event managers at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, who are scheduled to host 10 matches this season, have also tested positive for COVID-19.
Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana was also tested Kovid-positive but has undergone training again.
The IPL 2021 is scheduled to take place on 9 April, in which the defending champions Mumbai Indians will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai in the season-opener.

Last year the tournament was played in the United Arab Emirates due to the high number of COVID-19 cases in India.
IPL 2021 returns to a cash-rich league in India, whose matches will be played at six venues – Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
