Sukumaran Nair says that the Chief Minister is indirectly condemning the stand of the NSS
Continuing its stand against the Left Democratic Front over the Sabarimala issue, the Nair Service Society (NSS) on Saturday strongly commented on the remarks made by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan against CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran against the community organization.
In a statement, NSS Secretary General G. Sukumaran Nair said that justifying Mr. Rajendran, the Chief Minister was actually indirectly condemning the stand of the NSS.
“(Ayyappa) NSS’s stand to protect the rights of devotees has been right from the beginning and we will continue it. Also, the state government never bothered to take a stand in favor of the faithful.
‘Confusion’
Elucidating the sequence of events that came to light after a statement by Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran, Mr. Nair said that confusion continued within the alliance on the Sabarimala issue. “They could have avoided such confusion because they had taken a clear and transparent approach in matters relating to the protection of faith. This is why devotees distrust the Left, ”said Mr. Nair.
Regarding the prayer rally taken out by NSS members against Mr. Rajendran’s remarks in the capital, Mr. Nair clarified that it was never a politically motivated event.
