Anyone who bought a new TV in the Black Friday and Boxing Day sales might want to look away now. That’s because the CES technology show is about to kick off in Las Vegas and new TVs are going to be top of the agenda.
Sony and LG will reveal their new Googleboxes tomorrow, January 4, but Samsung has just given fans a glimpse of what’s to come and it certainly looks like another blockbuster upgrade from the Korean firm.
The latest tellies to be announced by Samsung feature displays that look set to offer better colour and eye-popping brightness.
Consumers will soon be treated to a new range of standard Neo QLED TVs, updated lifestyle screens or help themselves to the ultimate Micro LED screens which will be available in whopping 110”, 101” and 89″ sizes.
Samsung is promising its best ever viewing experience thanks to technologies including Shape Adaptive Light. This is able to monitor exactly what is being shown on the screen and change things such as brightness to offer the perfect picture.
Samsung is also bringing an Eye Comfort mode to all of its new tellies which switches the settings depending on how light things are in the room.
As the ambient light changes, the screen will gradually reduce the amount of light and offer warmer tones, adjusting the blue light levels accordingly. This allows for a more comfortable viewing experience at night by reducing the blue light which may affect one’s sleep quality.
And it’s not just about the picture as the Neo QLED’s sound features are getting a major upgrade as well.
Building on Samsung’s OTS (Object Tracking Sound), which directs the sound to move across the room along with the object on-screen, the 2022 products will feature OTS Pro, which incorporates powerful up-firing speakers to create overhead surround sound.
Along with upgrades to the actual hardware, Samsung is also making changes to the software which are aimed at bringing more entertainment to the big screen and improving the way customers find it.
Samsung is promising that its new Smart Hub will guide users to their favourite content or help them discover something new all while spending less time searching.
There’s also a new gaming section that will include access to services such as Google’s Stadia platform and NVIDIA’s GeForce Now.
Another new feature is something called Watch Together. This new app, which is a little like Apple’s SharePlay option, allows users to video chat with friends and family while watching their favourite shows and movies.
Samsung’s new range of TVs will launch in the coming months.
