India’s Vijayveer Sidhu won the silver medal behind Petr Olek of Estonia in the ISSF World Cup men’s 25m rapid fire pistol final in New Delhi on Friday. With 26 hits, both were tied for the top spot in the 40-shot finals. In the shoot-off, Vijayveer was a success, after putting up a brilliant shot to deliver four of the five hits in the eighth and final series. Without any pressure, Olsak received four hits to win the top prize after consecutive appearances in the finals.
Other Indian shooters in the finals, Aneesh Bhanwala and Gurpreet Singh, took fifth and sixth place, while Oskar Milivek of Poland won the bronze with 20.
In Qualification 2, veteran Gurpreet was the best Indian in third place with a total of 581, with 290 in the first leg and 291 in the second.

Aneesh was fifth with a total score of 579 and Sidhu also cut the sixth and final qualifying slot after securing two stages with a total score of 579.
Marco Carillo of Peru topped the final qualifying with 582 and was followed by Petr Olek of Estonia. Milivek was fourth.
