India’s Gnimat Sekhon and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa won the gold medal after defeating Kazakhstan in the Skeet Mixed Team event at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi on Tuesday. The India 1 ‘team defeated Alexander Yichenko and Olga Panarina of Kazakhstan 33–29 in the final. It was India’s second gold medal and fourth overall in the ongoing skeet events at the World Cup. India dominate the overall medal table at 14 in the competition. USA and Kazakhstan are four behind them. India now has seven gold medals, three silver and four bronze.
Bajwa was the star performer, missing one of his 20 shots. Sekhon, on the other hand, missed four of their first 10 shots in a slow start, but eight of the final 10 were on target, as Kazakhs did not lag behind to capitalize on a strong start.
Panarina lost six of their shots, while Yichenko missed out on five, as Kazakhstan had to settle for their second silver medal of the World Cup.

Earlier, after losing to Qatar, the second Indian team – ‘India 2’ – missed out on bronze and finished fourth in the Skeet Mixed Team event.
Parinaz Dhaliwal and Mairaj Ahmed Khan lost a close 31–32 match between Qatar’s Rashid Hamad and Reem Al Sharshani.
