IPL 2021: Sunrisers Hyderabad All-Rounder Mitchell Marsh Pull Out, Report Says

Australia and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has opted out of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sources in Sunrisers Hyderabad management confirmed that the Australians had opted out of this year’s edition. The team has not thought of any replacement so far.

“Yes, Michelle Marsh has ruled out of this year’s IPL. We cannot say anything about this replacement at this time,” SRH sources told ANI on Wednesday.

Mitchell Marsh did not play for Sunrisers Hyderabad last year for the entire season as he was ruled out after suffering an ankle injury in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

SRH then named Jason Holder as Marsh’s replacement during IPL 2020.

Last year, the David Warner-led team qualified for the playoffs, but lost to the Delhi team in Qualifier 2.

Even after Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mitchell Marsh were injured, SRH managed to punch above their weight to reach the playoff stage.

Before IPL 2021, SRH included Kedar Jadhav, Jagdish Suchit, and Mujib ur Rehman in their squad.

RCB is expected to start IPL 2021 with Mumbai Indians on 9 April. SRH will play its first match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 11 April in Chennai.
