After the end of his seven-day quarantine period, Harbhajan Singh has started training with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The Indian spinner was acquired by KKR during the IPL auction for their base price of Rs 2. Crores Rs. He arrived in KKR’s bio-safe bubble on 27 March and was put into mandatory quarantine. On Saturday, KKR posted a video of him coming out of his hotel room, and the spinner also announced that his result was negative.

In the video, Harbhajan looks excited at the prospect of starting his outdoor training. Before leaving his bio-safe bubble, he also shows some dance moves.

In the video, he can also be seen exchanging a few words with former captain Dinesh Karthik, before joining with the rest of his teammates before training.

The 40-year-old started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians (MI) before joining MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

He was part of CSK’s title win in the 2018 season, taking seven wickets in 13 matches. He also represented CSK in IPL 2019, where he lost to Mumbai Indians (MI) in the final.

Harbhajan was also expected to join the United Armenian Emirates (UAE) for CSK in the IPL 2020, but he pulled out due to personal reasons. IPL 2020 was transferred to the UAE due to a coronovirus epidemic.

CSK had a poor campaign in the UAE, finishing seventh in the eight-team table.

KKR also did not do well, finishing fifth in the league stage and missed a playoff chance.

Apart from Harbhajan, KKR also bought Shakib Al Hasan for Rs 3.2 crore and Ben Cutting for Rs 75 lakh during the IPL 2021 auction.

His other new acquisitions are Karun Nair (Rs 50 lakh), Pawan Negi (Rs 50 lakh), Sheldon Jackson (Rs 20 lakh), Venkatesh Iyer (Rs 20 lakh) and Vaibhav Arora (Rs 20 lakh).

IPL 2021 is scheduled to begin on 9 April, with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as the season openers.

KKR’s first match will be on April 11, when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
