Suresh Raina, the talisman of Chennai Super Kings, took to Instagram on Friday to share a picture from his hotel room where he is completing his quarantine ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Raina, who missed the last edition of the IPL due to personal reasons, arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday and will join the team after completing his quarantine. “Our king is back !!!” Reacting to Raina’s post, he wrote to CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. The MS Dhoni-led team ended a disappointing season last year as they failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their history. Prior to the upcoming season, CSK players have started their preparations as they look to improve their standings from last year, which earned them sixth place in the eight-team tournament.
Raina, who announced his retirement from international cricket with CSK captain MS Dhoni on 15 August last year, is beating the quarantine blues in view of Team India’s ongoing ODI series against England.
After India’s superb batting performance in the second ODI, Raina took to Twitter to praise the brilliant bowling of KL Rahul and captain Virat Kohli as they shared a 121-run partnership for the third wicket. He was also impressed by Rishabh Pant’s explosive innings of 77 off 40 balls, in which he hit three fours and seven sixes.
