Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took to social media to tease fans with the possible replacement of Josh Hazlewood, who recently pulled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The Australian bowler was ready to depart for India, but decided to leave the tournament and spend some time with his family. The IPL 2021 is scheduled to begin on 9 April and CSK will play their first match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on 10 April. Taking to Twitter, CSK posted a picture of Hazelwood, and captioned it, “Some Josh will be missing this #SummerOf2021! Expect some aussome action soon in #Yellove! #WhistlePodu.”
Fans were left to question the tweet’s meaning, with some hinting that the word “Australian” in the tweet could mean that a cricketer from Hazelwood’s native country Australia could replace him.
“Another Australian coming as a replacement! @ChennaiIPL signs – ‘YES’ in yellow soon”, a fan replied.

Best wishes to all #Joshzelwood As he makes a decision to secure his future to play for Australia. The decision may come a little early, but better late than ever!
He would have been an ace up our sleeve, but even with this fall, CSK is still winning # IPL2021.

Hazelwood is not the first cricketer of the year to pull out of IPL 2021. Earlier on Wednesday, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was also ruled out of IPL 2021.
Promoted
Meanwhile, even Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Joshua Phillips pulled out, citing personal reasons.
Last season, Hazelwood played only three matches for CSK, and this year he will compete with Moeen Ali, Sam Curren, Lungi Ngidi and Dwayne Bravo to earn a place in the playing eleven.
