Kolkata Knight Riders players Andre Russell and Sunil Narine were seen departing for India ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in a video posted by KKR on social media. “Caribbean #Nights are just a few hours away from their second home #India!” Wrote KKR on Twitter and posted a video where Russell and Naren are seen at an airport. IPL 2021 will begin on April 9 with defending champions Mumbai Indians at Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai.

KKR will start their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai on 11 April.
Russell and Naren won the IPL as teammates with KKR in 2014 while Naren also won the league in 2012 with KKR. Both players have been instrumental to the team’s prospects over the past several years.
However, Russell’s form deteriorated last season as he managed only 117 runs and six wickets in 10 matches without a single half-century.
Naren, too, was subdued, although not as much as Russell, the left-handed batsman scored 121 runs in 10 matches with a half-century and took five wickets.
Despite their performance last season, when the IPL was held in the UAE due to a coronovirus epidemic, Russell and Naren would return to their familiar players despite the fact they did not play at home this season.
Promoted
No team will play on their home ground this season as only six places have been selected for the IPL – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
The playoffs and finals will be played in Ahmedabad. The final is scheduled on 30 May.
