In times of epidemics and bio-safe bubbles, you cannot afford to be mentally thin. Players from the India and England cricket teams had to join their respective franchises for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), which starts on 9 April, within just one day of ending their high-octane ODI series. Running from a bio bubble Mohammed Siraj joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) camp with teammate Yuzvendra Chahal, it can be quite a challenge to say.
By mixing the mandatory PPE kit with a stylish pair of goggles, the Indian pair left Pune, “keeping the entire plane to themselves”.
A red PPE suit would have been more fun when they were largely alone in flight, Siraj quipped in a video shared on RCB’s official Twitter handle.
The clip shows the players relaxing and enjoying the hospitality, with Chahal, who was traveling with his wife, even sneaking in a quick nap.

To compare bubble-to-bubble transfer to a “mission” type, Siraj said that they would only know by evening how difficult the mission was and whether they were successful. He went on to add “Safety First” referring to the PPE suit.
Chahal’s wife, Dhanashree, as well as Johnny Bairstow of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), also tagged along with the RCB duo.
So, why was Bairstow in a single flight? Because in the time of COVID-19, flight-pooling seemed the safest option, given that both the Indian and England teams were staying in the same bubble during the series that ended on Sunday.
Promoted
India made the perfect outing against England, winning all three series against England – Tests, T20s and ODIs.
In the opening match of the IPL, RCB take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Chennai. The match will start at 7.30 pm. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad made their campaign debut against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 11 April.
