Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma will create history by becoming the first captain to win the trophy for three consecutive times in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The right-handed opener has trained hard ahead of the season-opener on April 9, and is expected to play a key role in the Star-Star MI squad. On Wednesday, MIT snapped things coming from the explosive batsman on Instagram with a clip of Rohit Sharma carrying his trademark pull shot.

Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in the history of IPL, giving Mumbai Indians a record five titles. Chennai Super Kings has the next best trophy cabinet, which has three.

In IPL 2020, Rohit Sharma scored 332 runs in 12 matches due to MI’s dominance in the season in the United Arab Emirates.

Despite not being the most prolific of the season, Rohit scored a brilliant half-century in the final against Delhi Capital as Mumbai clinched the title.

Mumbai Indians will begin their campaign with the season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, IPL 2021 will be played in six cities and all matches will be played in neutral venues.

The six locations are Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
