Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson wants to learn as much from Sri Lankan veteran Kumar Sangakkara, the director of RR in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The Rajasthan Royals made Samson their captain for the 2021 season. IPL after the release of last edition captain Steve Smith from the team in January this year. Rajasthan Royals said, “I am very keen to lead the Royals. Certainly, a lot of ideas are going through my mind, but I would like to keep it simple. I am happy to play this role.” Quoting Samson as saying.
“To be very honest, until last year, I never felt that I could possibly be the leader of the Royals,” he said.
Sangakkara is arguably the best wicket-keeper batsman to have ever produced cricket. Samson not only learns wicket-keeping skills but also looks at every aspect of the former Sri Lankan captain’s game that has made him one of the best batsmen of the modern era.
Samson said, “My first memory of Sanga is definitely his cover drive and I loved his batting. It is a dream and it is true that Kumar will work closely with a legendary player like Sangakkara.”

The IPL will begin on April 9 with the horns of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians opener of the tournament. Rajasthan Royals will play their first match against Punjab Kings on 12 April in Mumbai.
