Chris Gayle recently completed his mandatory quarantine and began training with his Punjab Kings teammates. Since joining the team, the West Indies star has been leading the entertainment front of his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise and joking other cricketers. During one such practice session, Gayle was seen spending a good time with some of his teammates – Mandeep Singh, Arshadip Singh and Harpreet Brar. The Punjab team shared a video on Instagram, in which four players can be seen performing Shikhar Dhawan’s famous thigh-five celebration. In the video, Gail also says in a Mira mood, “Yes, the Japs are back!”

The IPL 2021 is going to start from April 9, with the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) season opener at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Punjab Royals will have their first match on April 12, when they face Rajasthan Royals (RR).
After finishing sixth in the league table, the KL Rahul-led outfit recorded six wins and eight defeats during the IPL 2020.

Despite a collective effort, Punjab captain Rahul managed to win the Orange Cap last season with 670 runs in 14 matches. He also scored a ton, and five half-centuries.
During the IPL auction, Punjab made some big purchases, and could be involved in the playoff race. Australian bowler Jhe Richardson was bought for Rs 14 crore and Riley Meredith was bought for Rs 8 crore. The club also paid Rs 5.25 crore for Shahrukh Khan. Meanwhile, Moises Henriques, David Malan and Fabian Allen were also included in the team.
