World number one T20I batsman Shaifali Verma scored 60 off 30 balls to give India a nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the third and final match after a superb bowling by left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gaikwad. Gaikwad took three wickets for just nine runs to restrict India’s South African women for 112 for 7 and Verma and skipper Smriti Mandhana (48 not out from 28 balls) then shared a 96-run stand for the opening wicket. Won 90 runs at the loss of wicket. Leave the overs. Shaifali hit seven fours and five sixes during his explosive innings while Mandhana hit nine fours in his unbeaten innings. The SA women won the three-match T20I series 2–1, winning the first two matches.
Chasing 113 for the win, the 17-year-old Shafali was stunned by a word of 18 runs (3 fours and a six) in the first over bowled by Shabneem Ismail. She kept attacking the opposition bowlers and hit three more sixes in the next three overs, including Nadine de Kirkle’s second over.

Nondumiso Shangse ended the innings of the young Indian opener by getting Ismail caught out in the ninth over. But by then, the match was as good as an over in India’s favor.
