India (Playing XI) – Rohit Sharma (IN SURYAKUMAR YADAV), KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal.

England (Playing XI) – Jason Roy, Jose Butler (WK), David Malan, Johnny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan (C), Ben Stokes, Sam Curren, Chris Jordan, Joffra Archer, Adid Rashid, Mark Wood (TOM CURRAN).

Indian captain Virat Kohli admitted that he too would have chosen to bowl. Reveals that they used to talk about hugging what they are being asked to do. Explains that this is an exciting challenge. While not crowded there, Kohli says he is aware that England will be in trouble as the series is equally ready. Adds that crowd is an added advantage, but they need to be professional and they have other things to focus on such as scoring runs on the board and bowling as if England are a quality side. Kohli said that there was a change after Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed and Rohit Sharma returned.

England captain Eoin Morgan says they will follow. He mentions that the decision comes with a small range and humidity on one side. Happy to play his 100th T20I and he hopes he did well with the ball and then chased down the score. Mark Wood fit in and he replaces Tom Curren.

Toss – Time for the all-important toss. Why you ask Because the side that won the toss has won the game so far in this series. The Indian captain, Virat Kohli, was out in the middle with England captain, Eoin Morgan and the match referee. The coin goes up, Morgan calls Heads and it comes down as Heads. Opt for England Opt!

Pitch Report – Deep Dasgupta and Ajit Agarkar are down for the pitch report. Agarkar says it is a pitch of red clay and things happen quickly. Explains that this is a good pitch and reminds us that the first bowling has done well so far. Agarkar feels that the team’s bowling will first take advantage of the slow ball option and as the game progresses, the pitch will be maintained. Dasgupta says the offside limit for the right-hand side is slightly longer than the other side. Agarkar feels that the bare minimum batting in 170–175 will be the first to be seen. Dasgupta ends by saying that the pitch will be good for batting but there will be something for bowlers as well.

Time to move forward for action in this high-octane T20I series between England and India. Both teams will now clash in the third T20I, in which both will win one of the last two games. However sadly, this game and the remaining two games will be played behind closed doors due to Kovid-19 norms. Both teams have had their share of successes and failures and the team that learns from it will progress today. For India, it has been their all-round skills that have been on display for some time as they look to maintain the momentum they have gained since their win in the 2 T20Is. England however is not far behind as they are also fighters and we expect all guns to come out after a bad outing in the 2 T20Is. A burst of competition awaits us as we await tosses and team updates that will arrive in a while.
