India’s captain Virat Kohli called Ishaan Kishan, who made the debut, a “fearless character”, later scoring 56 runs off just 32 balls, beating India by seven wickets against England in Ahmedabad in the second T20I on Sunday. Kohli amassed 73 runs in just 49 balls and became the first player in men’s cricket to reach 3000 T20I runs, which counted Kishan. Kohli said after the match, “There is a special mention of the way Ishaan batted. I tried to do what I can but he followed his instinct.”
“He is a fearless character and must continue his instinct.”

Kohli said, “When you play with such dominance in the IPL he is a fearless character and he knew that he is playing the ball well. He is calculating the ball very well .
Together, Kohli and Kishan added 94 runs in just nine overs for the second wicket as India made short work of England’s total of 164 runs and won the over two overs.
Talking about his partnership with Kishan, Kohli said, “Today’s innings and partnership with him was needed.”

India also benefited from some good bowling by Washington Sundar (2/29), Shardul Thakur (2/29), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/28) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1/34).

After restricting England to an all-out total, Kishan attacked from the start of the innings, even losing his opening partner KL Rahul to the Duck.
Kishan was one of two debutants for India in this match. Suryakumar Yadav also made his debut on Sunday.
