India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma told the media on Wednesday to pressurize wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and said he would continue to give match-winning performances if he remains alone. Pant, who often finds himself under much scrutiny, has changed his fortunes in recent months with some match-winning performances against both Australia and England. While addressing a press conference ahead of the T20 International series against England, Rohit Sharma said that if Pant is allowed to stay on his own, Pant can offer more things of the same kind.
Stating that Pant could only be better from here, Rohit returned a question to the media.
“We leave him alone and we allow him to play with freedom, and as team management, we’re ready to do that. And I’m going to ask you the same question, are you going to do that too? Ready? ” Rohit asked.
