IND vs ENG: Rishabh Pant surprised Jofra Archer in a shocking clock

Rishabh Pant played another notable reverse scoop against a fast bowler, this time with Jofra Archer bowling in the first T20I between India and England in Ahmedabad on Friday. Pant played a similar shot against James Anderson during the fourth Test match against England earlier this month. Pant was seen attacking with the word Go in India’s innings, even losing three wickets inside the powerplay. Pant played that shot in the fourth over of the innings when India were 8 for 2 after losing KL Rahul and captain Virat Kohli.

He followed that six neatly for a boundary with a flick as India battled to get back into the competition.

Archer’s pace did not stop the Indian wicketkeeper batsman, who went down with one knee and took the ball before almost slipping from the leg stump and all the way to six.

In the fourth Test, Pant had scored 101 runs in the first innings, which gave India an innings victory.

His humiliating shot on Friday, along with the likes of VVS Laxman, Kevin Pietersen and Yuvraj Singh, caused applause and mourning to the applause of fans and cricketers in the camps.

Peterson tweeted, “Pant smokes! Pant has played the biggest shot ever played in cricket. Reverse sweeping / lifting Archer with a new ball of 90 mph.”

Laxman tweeted, “An incredible shot of Rishabhpant 17. Looking ahead to get the team out of this terrible situation.”

Yuvraj joins the chorus: “This is the new generation !! Absolutely fearless! Reverse sweep or shot I don’t know what to call it! But @ RishabhPant17 you hate them for hitting a fast bowler! Sports!”
