IND vs ENG: Ravi Shastri shares team India’s unity, see cheerful group photo pic

Ravi Shastri stepped out on social media to share a cheerful photo with the Indian cricket team, who are currently in Pune for their three-match ODI series England. The hosts are in excellent form, and also won the first ODI by 66 runs at MCA Stadium. In his tweet, Shastri talked about the close unity and bonding shared by his cricketers, which helped India perform well in matches. Shastri tweeted, “Pack that stays together. Bubble or any bubble. Results will come and go for others. Great day lovely #TeamIndia in Pune”, Shastri tweeted.

The group photo features the likes of Shastri Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Krunal Pandya, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.

Prior to the ODI series, India made a stunning upset to defeat England 3–2 in the five-match T20I series. Due to their impressive performances in the series, the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have seen an improvement in their position in the ICC T20I Player Rankings.

Captain Kohli has moved up to the fourth position in the batting rankings.

In the first ODI, India scored 317 runs for five wickets in 50 overs and set a target of 318 runs for the visiting team.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan scored 98 runs off 106 balls and missed a century by two runs. Meanwhile, Krunal Pandya played an unbeaten innings of 58 runs in 31 balls. Krunal also completed his half-century in 26 balls, the fastest century in ODI cricket.

He also formed a 112-run partnership with KL Rahul, and tears were shed during the break of the innings.

The visiting team was dismissed for 251 runs in 42.1 overs, with another debutant Krishna taking four wickets.

The second ODI of the three-match series is scheduled to take place on 26 March and the hosts will be aiming to take their lead.
