Young batsman Ishan Kishan says that he had to face the best paces around the world during the IPL, which gave him the confidence to play fearlessly against England on his India debut. Kishan’s blistering 56-run knock at the top set the stage for India’s comfortable and successful chase in the second T20 International (T20) on Sunday night. The 22-year-old left-handed batsman admitted that he has contributed to the development of the IPL as a batsman. “It clearly helps (to face the likes of Mumbai Indians teammates Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah),” Kishan said at the post-match virtual press conference.
“In the IPL you have to face quality bowlers from all over the world and you get used to these bowlers. And I think that’s really for me.”
Kishan also said that the team management supported him to play his natural game without feeling pressured.
“Before the match I was told that I should open the innings and play openly and the way I am playing in the IPL. I was told not to bring extra pressure. But it was my first game, I was a bit out on the field. Was nervous. “
“But when you wear your country’s jersey the pressure just goes away and you try to give your best.”
The debut was in hopes of picking up the mind of the India captain during Virat Kohli’s 94 and during the five-match series.
Chase Master Kohli (73 not out from 49 balls) led India to victory with 13 balls remaining after Kishan was dismissed.

“It was a feeling of pride for me because I saw him (Kohli) on TV, his attitude on the field, but watching it from the other end is totally different. I think it’s something that I find myself in Can change. ” The energy, his presence on the ground, there is much to learn from him. “
Kishan said, “The way he talks on the field takes pressure from you. I just want to make sure that I learn a lot from him in this series.”
