After losing the Test series 3–1 despite winning the first Test, England will look for some similarities on their India tour in the five-match T20I series starting on Friday. England, ranked No. 1 in the ICC T20I rankings, will be hoping that a change in formats will change their fortunes as Eoin Morgan takes over. There is a return to India with limited-overs specialists like Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvendra Chahal making a comeback to the team with the new additions of Ishaan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia as well as the long-awaited return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar .

India tasted defeat in their last T20I out, losing to Australia by 12 runs in Sydney last year. India were limited to 174 for 7, chasing Australia’s 186 for 5.

India chased two balls, facing 195 balls, scoring 40 runs in 24 balls, Virat Kohli scored 40 and Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 42 in 22 balls. Shikhar Dhawan had scored 52 out of 36 in that match.
Vs Australia, Canberra, 4 December 2020 – Won by 11 runs
Yuzvendra Chahal scored 3 in 25 and T.T. Natarajan took 3 for 30 as India stopped Australia for 150 for 7 in response to 161 for 7.
Vs New Zealand, Mount Maunganui, 2 February 2020 – Won by 7 runs
Jaspreet Bumrah took 3 wickets for 12 runs, while Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini took two wickets each, stopping India at 9 and defending a modest score of 163 for 3.
Vs New Zealand, Wellington, 31 January 2020 – Won in Super Over
After the teams finished at 165, India won the super over chasing the required 14 runs for the win. For India, Manish Pandey scored a half-century while Jasprit Bumrah took 1 wicket for 20 runs in four overs.

Vs South Africa, Cape Town, December 1, 2020 – Won by nine wickets
England registered a comfortable win by nine wickets in their final T20I, which ended at a two-wicket loss in 3 overs, chasing South Africa’s 191 runs. Unbeaten 99 runs in just 47 balls.
Vs South Africa, Paarl, November 29, 2020 – Won by four wickets
Malan was again dismissed for 55 at the score of 40 and Eoin Morgan’s unbeaten 26 made England chase South Africa’s 146 for one ball with one ball remaining.
Vs South Africa, Cape Town, November 27, 2020 – Won by five wickets
Johnny Bairstow remained unbeaten on 86 off just 48 balls as England chased down the target of 180 runs with four balls to spare.
Vs Australia, Southampton, 8 September 2020 – lost by five wickets
Australia, chasing a target of 146 runs, also got Adil Rashid for 3 wickets for 21 runs and Johnny Bairstow scored 55 runs in 44 balls.
