“I’ve been reading your messages and been overwhelmed by all fours of love and support. Thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart. You know what they say, the bigger the shock, the stronger the return. ” Come back soon, ”Iyer tweeted.
The 26-year-old was fielding at extra cover when he dived to his left to save a boundary, but awkwardly landed on his shoulder.
Iyer was immediately taken off the field and later taken for a scan. He did not take any part in the first ODI as Shubman Gill came on the field as a fielder.
Promoted
India had named a strong 18-man squad for the ongoing ODI series and therefore did not announce any replacements for the remaining two matches.
The second ODI will be played on Friday while the third and final match is to be played on Sunday.
