England all-rounder Ben Stokes on Friday received another official warning from the on-field officials after he accidentally slapped the match ball during the Indian innings in the second ODI in Pune. The incident took place in the fourth over, when Stokes mistakenly learned to put saliva on the ball and immediately on-field umpires Nitin Menon and Virender Sharma warned captain Jose Butler. Incidentally, he also caught a slip in the same over to Shikhar Dhawan to dismiss Reece Topley.
The ICC has banned saliva after forcibly breaking COCID-19 after the match.
According to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), the ball was cleaned before the proceedings could resume.
