Holapu 2021 – A sports meet for members of rural and urban local bodies of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts was inaugurated in Kota in Udupi district on Saturday.
In the Viveka High School ground to celebrate the birth anniversary of the late Kottattu Gram Panchayat and Dr. The meeting was organized by Shivram Karanta Pratishthan.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Katel received a Guard of Honor from members of local bodies during his march-past, while Udupi MLA K. Raghupati Bhat hoisted the Sports Meet flag. Mangaluru MLA UT Khader received the sports light, while MLC Appaji Gowda administered the oath and MLC Pratap Simha Nayak released the balloons.
Members of urban and rural local bodies took out the march-past at the beginning of the meeting. It also had tableaux depicting the rich cultural heritage of the twin districts, including Yakshagana, Tattiraya, Dolu of Korga, Kambala etc. On this occasion, the panchayats that performed remarkably were recognized and respected.
KotaTattu GP President Ashwini Dinesh presided. Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari, Udupi District Panchayat President Dinkar Babu, Principal Secretary Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department L K Atik and others were present.
