After a slow start, vaccination coverage in TN has increased
Technical disturbances and errors in data entry have been reported with COVID-19 vaccination in the state. Where some people were vaccinated, they faced delays in obtaining vaccination certificates, many others were left after a certain time, as they received certificates that the wrong dates were getting shots from them. Huh.
After a slow start, vaccination coverage in the state has increased, particularly as it opened to senior citizens and individuals between the ages of 45 and 59 with co-morbidity on 1 March.
While some residents of the city complained that there was a delay in obtaining the vaccination certificate, many others were surprised to find the date of the vaccination incorrect in their certificate.
The 69-year-old resident of Madipakkam, who was vaccinated at a nearby primary health center, received a certificate with an incorrect date of vaccination.
He was vaccinated on 9 March, while the certificate mentions a date of 13 March. His age was also incorrectly recorded as 70. “My father was vaccinated on March 9, and did not receive an SMS link until March 12. The doctor said there was some problem with uploading the details. When he received his certificate on March 13, the vaccination date was incorrect. “
Another person, on the condition of anonymity, said he had received vaccinations at a private hospital in Chennai, but ended up with a two-dose certificate.
“I think the problem is in uploading the information because the provisional certificate that came after the first dose was done a week later. Although I took the second dose, I landed with the second provisional first shot certificate. Now I have a second first dosing certificate with a new reference number, ”she said.
Similar issues were raised by many people receiving the vaccine in the city.
A government doctor in Chennai said that the SMS sent after the second dose had the wrong date of vaccination.
Health department officials said this may be due to data entry issues. “If there is a challenge in vaccination certificates regarding data discrepancies, we will get it fixed within a period of time,” said an official.
