Hisense has revealed that it’s rolling out an update across its smart TV range that will add Disney Plus support. The Chinese TV maker said built-in support for the hugely popular streaming service will be available with the latest firmware update for the Vidaa operating system. The Disney Plus support will be rolled out to all applicable TVs in the coming weeks, and among the devices getting the update are Hisense’s 2021 4K TV range.
This includes the A9G, an IMAX-enhanced 4K OLED TV which, for a limited-time only, can be purchased from the Hisense website for £799. The A9G is available in 55inch and 65inch sizes, with the OLED TVs also supporting Ultra HD Premium and Dolby Vision Atmos.
The U9G and U8G are also compatible with the upcoming Disney Plus software update, as is Hisense’s mid-range tellies such as the A7GQ and the A6G. The Disney Plus update will make it easier for Hisense 4K TV owners to tune into the wealth of content the service offers.
Disney Plus includes all the Disney and Pixar classics you know and love, plus unmissable exclusive shows such as The Mandalorian, Wandavision and Loki.
The Star section of Disney Plus also adds plenty of hit boxsets and movies that aren’t for a young audience.
This incredible list of content for more adult viewers includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files, 24 as well as movies such as Die Hard, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Deadpool 2.
Speaking about the big Hisense news Guy Edri, EVP of VIDAA USA, said: “Our cooperation with The Walt Disney Company is a major milestone for our organisation. Bringing Disney+ to the VIDAA platform globally is just the first step.
“We’re looking forward to working with Disney on ways to expand our collaboration and opportunities to bring their full suite of streaming services to our customers in the future. Today marks not only the launch of an amazing service on a state-of-the-art platform.”
While Arun Bhatoye, head of marketing at Hisense UK, added: “We are thrilled to announce the introduction of Disney+ on our TV range with the VIDAA platform.
