Gurugram rages on meat shops

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday criticized the Haryana government, following which the state ordered the meat shops to be closed every Tuesday.

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram reportedly cleaned the decks every Tuesday for the closure of meat shops.

Reacting to a media report on Twitter, Mr. Owaisi said that meat is food for millions of Indians and should not be considered impure. “How can trust in what other people are doing in their personal lives hurt? People are buying, selling or eating meat, they are not forcing you to participate, ”said Mr. Owaisi.

The Hyderabad MP also asked: “By this argument, have liquor shops closed on Friday?”
