If the new update hasn’t arrived just yet then there are some things to try that will offer a temporary fix.
Google has issued three workarounds for Chromebook users which include:
• Powerwash the device.
This is basically a posh name for factory reset. Google says you can make your Chromebook run like new again by doing a factory reset. A factory reset erases all the information on your Chromebook’s hard drive, including all the files in the Downloads folder.
HOW TO POWERWASH – Sign out of your Chromebook • Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r • Select Restart • In the box that appears, select Powerwash and then Continue.
• Rollback the Chrome OS device to a previous version via USB.
• Remove the affected account and add the account back to the device
