Gold rises to ₹ 97;  Silver fall ₹ 275

New Delhi According to HDFC Securities, gold prices rose by Rs 97 to ₹ 46,257 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday.

In previous trade, the precious metal had closed the day at previous 46,160 per 10 grams.

In contrast, silver dipped 66,253 per kilogram, compared to 275 in the previous trade, which was 28 66,528 per kilogram.

“24-carat gold prices in Delhi supported the depreciation of the rupee,” said Tapan Patel, senior analyst (commodities), HDFC Securities.

The rupee fell 17 paise to 74.75 against the US dollar in Friday’s trade.

In the international market, gold was at a low of $ 1,745 an ounce and silver was flat at $ 25.15 an ounce.

“Gold prices saw some profit-booking along with dollar gains,” he said.
