Here is a rundown on all things new the Director’s Cut is going to add to the base game.
The Iki island: New villain, the dark secret of clan Sakai
The Iki island expands the storyline of Ghost of Tsushima. Jin discovers that the island has been seized by a mysterious Mongol tribe. The leader of the tribe is a shaman named Ankhsar Khatun or “the Eagle”. “As both a khatun and a shaman, she is not only a conqueror of nations, but a shepherd of souls. And the danger she presents to Jin and his people is unlike any they have faced.”, says the blogpost by Sucker Punch Productions, the developers of the game. Also, clan Sakai holds a dark secret which Jin can discover only by going to Iki island, a place the Japanese haven’t given much thought to for decades.
