The German FA has urged health officials in Munich that it is possible for spectators to be admitted to the Euro 2020 matches at the Allianz Arena, ahead of the UEFA deadline for host cities on Wednesday. German Football Association (DFB) vice-chairman Rainer Koch said, “I call on the regional government of Munich and Bavaria that every effort will be made to present at least a concrete scenario for the partial public appearance of the matches in Munich.” – Witness, told AFP assistant SID.

The Allianz Arena in Munich is scheduled to host Germany’s pool matches against France on 15 June, Portugal (19 June) and Hungary (23 June) as well as the quarter-finals (2 July).

In March, UEFA President Alexander Safferin clarified that he did not want any matches played “in front of an empty stand” at the Euros.

However, fans have not been allowed to watch the live matches at the Allianz Arena, home of Club World Champion Bayern Munich, due to hygiene regulations in Bavaria since March 2020.

Now the time is almost over.

The governing body of European football has allowed all 12 host cities to have at least fans in the stadiums to present their hygiene concepts by Wednesday.

“In other countries, not only is the pace of vaccination clearly faster, but the development and implementation of scenarios is much more advanced to accommodate audiences,” Koch said.
