GAIL India issues tender to buy and sell LNG for April-May

Indian importer has 20-year deal to buy 5.8 million tonnes of US LNG in a year

GAIL (India) has issued a tender seeking to purchase two liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo for delivery in India and offering two cargoes for loading from the United States, two industry sources said .

Sources said it is seeking a cargo for delivery at Dabhol LNG terminal from 13 to 15 April and a cargo for Hazira LNG terminal from 1 to 2 May.

GAIL is also offering two cargoes to load from CovePoint LNG from 20 April to 22 April and 10 to 12 May.

Sources said that the tender closed on 2 March.

The Indian importer has signed a 20-year deal to buy 5.8 million tonnes of US LNG a year, split between Dominion Energy’s Cove Point plant in Louisiana and Cheney Energy’s Sabine Pass site.
