Former Union Minister and BJP leader Dilip Gandhi passes away

He had recently tested positive for coronovirus and was undergoing treatment for several diseases.

BJP leader and former Union Minister Dilip Gandhi died on Wednesday in a hospital in New Delhi.

He was 69.

Gandhi served as the Minister of State for Shipping in the central government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Sources said that he had recently tested positive for coronovirus and was undergoing treatment for several diseases.

The BJP leader, who started his career as a corporator in the late 80s, won three Lok Sabha elections in 1999 from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.

He was denied a ticket in the 2019 general elections.
