Perhaps Brandon Marshall should take his advice and do a little more research before launching into this rant.
On the latest “I’m the Athlete” showThe six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver discussed differences in contract structures for NBA and NFL players with Channing Crowder, Chad Johnson and Fred Taylor. When Marshall announced that most of the NBA players did not have a fully guaranteed contract, the negotiations heated up. Marshall’s co-host tried to bite him, but he was already in too deep.

“Not everyone is on an NBA roster, a guaranteed contract,” Marshall said. “There are four people on an NBA team who got a guarantee contract, and all the others can be cut today and they get nothing. Look it up!”
Just a little problem here. Uh, Marshall is wrong.
As noted by Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus, most NBA contracts are guaranteed. Yes, some contracts may be non-guaranteed, depending on how a player and team negotiate the deal, but they are not the usual case.
I mean, I think most people know NBA contracts are guaranteed. Some (probably 5-8% generally, not counted) can start non-season by 10 January each year (non-epidemic) – all of them after that point

And if that’s not enough for Marshall, he can simply ask Hawks guard Lou Williams or the Lakers Jared Dudley how the NBA works. Both veterans have signed some of them.
However this man cannot be serious ??? 95% of players have Guaranteed Contracts … Sometimes 1 person in 1 roster will be partially signed for a later date, either cut or signed for the remainder of the season. Only the top elite QBs have the same deals as the NBA https://t.co/9K9j1Mwlzg

Marshall’s energy was excellent. All he needs is better information.
