Follow the criteria while filing nomination papers

Collector M. Arvind met with representatives of recognized political parties on Wednesday to follow the criteria for filing nominations.

He said that interested officers can file their nominations from 12 to 19 March between 11 and 3 pm, while the Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer can leave the office on 13 and 14 March. After scrutinizing the nomination on 20 March, contestants can withdraw their nomination by 22 March.

Candidates for the Kanniyakumari Lok Sabha by-election should submit their nominations to the Collector and District Election Officer.

No slogans and party flags should be allowed while filing nomination papers. Since COVID-19-related restrictions apply, people who come to file nominations must necessarily wear masks. Only two vehicles will be allowed up to 100 meters from the place of nomination submission. There can be only 2 persons with candidates, ”he said.

District Revenue Officer R. Revathi, Sub Divisional Officer, Padmanabhapuram, Shivguru Prabhakaran, representatives of recognized political parties and senior officials attended the meeting.
