FIR against ‘unknown persons’ for digging borewells at farmers’ protest site near Tikri border

Two first information reports have been filed by the Haryana Police at different police stations of Bahadurgarh for digging borewells and elevating permanent structures at the farmers’ movement site near the turkey border.

Cases were registered at the City and Sadar Bahadurgarh police stations on Tuesday.

Estate officer Siddharth Singh, Hariyana Sahari Vikas Pradhan, in the FIR lodged at Sadar Bahadurgarh police station, said that unidentified persons are constructing permanent structures on the agency road dividing Sector 10 and 12. The FIR lodged under the Damage to Public Property Act and the Indian Penal Code further states that illegal borewells have also been dug along the road, causing damage to public property.

Similarly, under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, an FIR has been lodged at the City Bahadurgarh Police Station at the behest of Manish Kumar, Human Resources Manager, Rohad Toll Plaza on National Highway-9 (Indian Public Code Duly ordered) Section 8B (Punishment for mischief caused by injury National Highway) Of the National Highways Act. The FIR stated that illegal borewells were being dug near the Najafgarh flyover slip road and demanded removal of the encroachment at the earliest.

Farmers are erecting permanent structures and digging borewells near the movement site on the Tikri border in view of early summer.
