The Bureau of the FIFA Council on Wednesday suspended the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) with immediate effect due to the interference of third parties, which is a serious violation of FIFA statutes. FIFA said in a statement that the “situation was fueled by the recent hostile takeover of the PFF headquarters in Lahore by a group of protesters and a decision allegedly taken by some individuals, which generalized the PFF led by Hariom Malik” The committee had removed the leadership of the PFF to hand over to Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah ”.

“FIFA issued a letter stating that the illegitimate occupation of the PFF headquarters should not be removed and that the FIFA-accredited officials are not allowed free access to the building to fulfill their mandate, prompting the matter to be immediately disbursed to the bureau. Will be presented to the council for decision, “it added.

As the situation remains unchanged, the council’s bureau has decided to suspend the PFF.

The suspension will be lifted only after FIFA receives confirmation from the PFF’s Generalization Committee that the PFF’s premises, accounts, administration and communications channels are again under its full control and that it can continue its mandate without any hiccups.

On the other hand, the Bureau of the FIFA Council decided to suspend the Chadian Football Association (FTFA) with immediate effect due to government intervention.

Once the related government decision is repealed, the suspension will be lifted and the FTFA and its management, led by chairman Mokhtar Mahmood Hamid, have confirmed to FIFA that the FTFA premises are again under its control.
