‘Executed’ by insurgents for kidnapping and killing Manipur rebel girl

Reports said that a Kangaroo court found him guilty of the kidnapping and murder of Luiningla Elizabeth, the eight-year-old daughter of Francis Ngajokpa, who was a cabinet minister.

Local media reports said on Sunday that a rebel leader had been identified on March 2 by an insurgent rebel group.

Police believe that the hanging took place in a foreign country. Reports said that the Kangaroo court found him guilty of the kidnapping and murder of Luingla Elizabeth, an eight-year-old student and daughter of Francis Njakopa, who was a cabinet minister.

A Class III student was kidnapped from Imphal’s Little Flower School on November 4, 2003 by some armed persons. He could not be traced despite a great silence. On November 12, his body was found after stuffing it in a gunny bag.

Eventually, Nando was arrested by a special team and sent to judicial custody. Later, he was placed in the security ward of JN Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, as he had a complaint of illness. On March 26, 2019, Nando escaped from the security ward. Authorities are yet to reconstruct the scene of how he survived despite the deployment of armed police guards.
