Estrada vs. Chocolatito 2: Live updates, results and highlights from the complete Juan Francisco Estrada-Roman Gonzalez card

After nearly a decade, the much-awaited rematch between WBC and The Ring Super Flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada and WBA (Super) titleholder Roman “Chocoletito” Gonzalez will take place on Saturday night as they meet in an uncontrolled showdown at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The two first met in 2012, with Chocolato defeating Estrada by unanimous decision in the light flyweight bout. But Estrada (41–3, 28 KO) proved in that fight that he would be a force in the boxing world for years to come. Estrada goes on to win 15 of their next 16 encounters, with their only loss being to Srisket Sor Rungvisai, away from back-to-back victories over Chocaletto. Estrada avenges that loss with a unanimous decision victory over WBC and The Ring Championship.

Gonzalez (50-2, 41 KO) was recognized as the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world ever after Floyd Mayweather retired from the game. His run was relatively short as he could chew against Sor Rungvisai and he dropped a decision before being knocked out in the rematch. It is believed that Chocleto was in one of several wars, and it was possible that the end of his career was near. Instead, Nicaraguan regained its winning ways with four straight wins, including an impressive ninth round halt of Yafai yesterday to claim the WBA (Super) title.

The co-main event features Jessica McCasill (9-2, three KOs) with Cecilia Brackhus (36-1, nine KOs) defending her WBC, IBF, WBO and WBA women’s welterweight titles. MacAskill shocked Brexas with a hard-hitting decision win last August. Maxxill swiftly came out of the gate and the Brachus were forced to strengthen the fight to give them any chance of coming from behind. The judges gave the fight to Maxxill.

Brekhus is out to prove that she is the better woman and reclaim the titles, with many believing that she should never have lost. But there are no plans to hand McCash the belt after hard work to continue in this position.
