eBay DOWN: DNS service unavailable hits, website down for thousands

eBay down reports are surging in today, with thousands of users reporting issues with the online auction website. Independent outage monitor Down Detector has recorded a huge spike in eBay down reports today, with users receiving a DNS error page when they try to visit the site. According to Down Detector stats, the eBay down issues began 12.30pm BST.

At the time of writing Down Detector UK has recorded a peak of more than 2,000 reports of eBay down.

As the eBay issues hit users took to Twitter to report the problems they were facing.

One tweeted: “@eBay seems like the ebay website is down, was just about to bid on something but lost out as the website crapped out. #ebaydown”.

While another posted: “is Ebay website in uk down @eBay”.

One added: “eBay UK is down – server issue again”.

And another wrote: “ebay UK has gone down!”

Express.co.uk has contacted eBay for comment and asked if a fix is in the works.

The DNS message that users are being greeted with today says: “Service Unavailable – DNS failure

“The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later.”

The eBay down issues come on a day that has seen major disruption to popular, household name services.

Social networking app Snapchat suffered a huge outage today which saw the service disrupted for hours.

While thousands of HSBC customers have also reported issues with the high street bank’s online banking service.
