Dustin Johnson misses the Masters cut;  The champion of 2020 caused havoc

Dustin Johnson’s reign as Masters champion lasted only two rounds of the 2021 tournament.

Johnson missed out on cutting this year’s event after winning the November Masters last year. He took two strokes outside the cut line after playing 36 holes in 5 overs.

He zeroed in on a reason why he would not play the weekend at Augusta National.

Johnson said, “Three put kills me. Take all three of you put away, I’m below 1” Per PGATour.com, Who noted that DJ hit 64 puts in his two rounds, the fifth-most in the field.

“It was like a difference,” he said. “My pace was terrible. I left it short by 10 feet at the last hole. I didn’t get a good bead at the speed of the last two days.” Firm Greens has been a challenge for the entire region this week.

Johnson para-put on 3-Friday 16 to damage his chances. He also shot two shots in the water in the last four holes, Copy golf dot com. The second was his shot in T18, where he needed a birdie to make the cut.

He was not the only recent Masters champion to have missed the cut this week. Sergio Garcia, the 2017 champion, 4 overs and Danny Villette, the 2016 champions, joined Johnson in 5 overs.

Multiple major champions Rory McElroy and Brooks Kopka also missed the cut. McIlroy finished the two-day thrill in 6 days. On 16 March, Koepka (+5) was on the course three weeks after knee surgery.
