Directorate of School Education declares ‘all passes’ for students of classes 1 to IX

The Directorate of School Education has declared ‘all passes’ for all students of classes I to IX in Puducherry due to disturbances in the academic calendar by the COVID-19 epidemic.

In a press note, Director of School Education PT Rudra Gaud said that a “stress-free internal assessment” would be done for one day in the last week of March.

Schools for classes 31 to IX will function from 31 March and summer vacation will start from 1 April.

However, as per the program of the concerned board, classes for X, XI and XII standards will be conducted till the commencement of public examinations in the respective fields.

As far as Standards X and XI in Puducherry and Karaikal regions are concerned, students studying in schools affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Board have been declared ‘all passes’, and the guidelines issued by the Tamil Nadu Board will be followed.

A few days ago, Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan approved the directorate’s proposal to give all the passes to the students of the classes.
