Will free agent wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster play next season? If his social media activity is any indication, he will not be in Pittsburgh.
In an Instagram poll posted on Thursday, Sports Illustrated Kaitlyn O’Toole Introduced a simple question: “Will Juju Be in Pittsburgh?” Voters are either “I hope” or “This is a negative.” Most football fans showed results that most football fans expected Smith-Shuster to leave the Steelers and play for a new team in 2021.

The most interesting part of the poll was not the result, however, the presence of a specific participant. “It’s a downside,” Smith-Shuster said from her verified Instagram account.
Smith-Shuster has become an important part of the Steelers’ offense since being selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He totaled 97 receptions, 831 yards and nine touchdowns last season as Pittsburgh won the AFC North title. In an ideal world, the front office gives him what he wants and puts it in a black and gold jersey through his chief.
Unfortunately for the Steelers, re-signing the talented 24-year-old will be a major challenge due to his hat position. Pittsburgh saved some space by restructuring the contract of Ben Rothlisberger, but the Steelers will struggle to keep a competitive offer in front of Smith-Shuster if he is looking to maximize his earnings.
Perhaps that’s why Smith-Shuster was one of the first Instagram users to vote “negatively” on that poll. He can already see the most likely results.
