Decided not to focus on the campaign

Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy said on Sunday that he had been called by the party high command to contest the election on 6 April, had decided not to enter the election and instead focused the electoral focus for the candidates of the coalition.

Addressing a press conference, Mr. Narayanasamy said that he was asked by Congress President Sonia Gandhi to contest the election, but the decision was not entirely in his constituency.

In addition, Puducherry PCC President AV Subramanian was contesting from Karaikal (North), he v. Along with Vaithilingam, the MP was supposed to coordinate election-related party activities. “This is the reason for me not contesting the election,” he said.
