Darshan Pal, Rakesh Tikait to lead Vidhana Saudha Chalo on Monday

Farmer leaders Darshan Pal and Rakesh Tikait, who have been spearheading the agrarian movement along Delhi’s borders for the last four months, will lead a ‘Vidhan Saudha Chalo’ rally in Bengaluru city on Monday. The rally, which is expected to be attended by more than 10,000 farmers and labor activists, will begin at the City railway station and culminate at Independence Park.

Karnataka has been one of the states where there has been a huge rush between farmers and labor unions in terms of agricultural bills and labor codes brought by union and state governments. Dr. Pal and Mr. Tikait will be on a three-day tour of the state starting on Saturday when they address a peasant mahapanchayat in Shivamogga, as part of a nationwide campaign to garner support. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, which is spearheading the agitation in Delhi, has called for a Bharat Bandh on March 26, when the agitation on the Delhi border will complete four months. Samyukta Horta – Karnataka said that they are planning to call a Karnataka bandh in support of the national call and a final decision will be announced on Monday.
