The final result is expected from 11 am.
The Telugu Desam Party has shown an edge in the Tadipatri municipality after counting postal ballots in Anantapur district, while the YSRCP is the chief among the remaining 10 municipalities, corporations and nagar panchayats.
Balloting was brought out of the strong room and counting of votes (25 ballot papers) in the presence of returning officers at SSBN College in Anantapur and other urban local bodies in the district.
Many illegal votes were seen in many places. The final result is expected from 11 am.
While TDP got 12 votes, YDRCP got 6 and 1 vote in Tadipatri.
The beginning of counting process was delayed in Madakasira, Guntakal and Kadiri. As per the information available at 9.30am, postal ballots were completed in majority of urban local bodies.
In Hindupur, out of 109 postal ballots: YSRCP polled 63, TDP 37, Congress 1, BJP 2, and others 6.
In Kalyangarh, out of 91 postal ballots, YSRCP received 56, TDP 32, Congress 1, Independents 2, Illegal 2.
In Rayadurg, out of 13 postal ballots, YSRCP was declared 9, TDP 3, and 1 invalid.
In Kadiri, YSRCP got 104, TDP got 31, Congress got 2, BJP got 1 and Independents 1.
In Dharmavaram, YSRCP received 116, TDP got 23, BJP got 1, Swatantra got 1, NOTA got 1, and Illegal got 10.
In Anantapur Municipal Corporation, 317 ballots out of 319 ballots were valid. YSRCP received 209, TDP 69, Independents 16, CPI 3, CPIM 2, Jan Sena Party 5, BJP 3, NOTA 7 and Congress 3.
