Last month it was reported that Clubhouse will soon introduce a messaging feature for its users. Now, the company has launched its new direct messaging feature. Called Backchannel, Clubhouse has rolled out the direct messaging feature on both Android and iOS.
Presently, users can chat one-on-one, in groups and can also send links in Clubhouse. The app doesn’t offer the ability to send images or videos. However, as reported by The Verge, the app will soon get more new features. Clubhouse will also offer an optional secondary inbox where message requests will live.
After the roll out of this feature, speakers will be able to organise and coordinate live via messaging. They will also be able to accept text-based questions.

To start a DM or Backchannel, you have to find a paper airplane like icon on anybody’s profile page or swipe right from the main menu. Presently, the feature does not allow users to delete messages, so message carefully.
Recently, Clubhouse rolled out an update for its Android app which allowed users to add their Instagram and Twitter accounts to their Clubhouse profile. In order to add your Twitter and Instagram accounts to the Clubhouse profile, you will just have to tap on the “Add Twitter” or “Add Instagram” options given in the app.
