National Men’s Selection Committee panel chairman Chetan Sharma said on Friday that he had received his first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The former Indian fast bowler urged those eligible to take the COVID-19 vaccine to get themselves vaccinated. “Got my first Kovid vaccine. Hopefully those who are eligible will do it as soon as possible. #Vaccinated #Beatcovid,” tweeted Sharma. Former cricketers Kapil Dev and Madan Lal received their first dose of coronovirus last month.

Last Saturday, former India batsman Sachin Tendulkar was informed that he had tested positive for coronavirus and said that all other members of his household had returned a negative COVID-19 result.
On Friday, Tendulkar said he had been hospitalized for “abundant caution under medical advice”. He also wished his fan on the 10th anniversary of India’s historic 2011 World Cup victory.

Apart from Tendulkar, S Badrinath, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan also tested positive for Kovid-19 last week. All of them shared the dressing room for India Legends in the Road Safety World Series played in Raipur with the presence of fans inside the stadium.
