The Apparel Export Promotion Council has appealed to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Satyavrat Sahu to give necessary instructions to the concerned and flying squads not to stop the vehicles that carry the export goods to the airport or sea port and Maintain proper export documents.
In a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer, Council President A. Sakthivel said that if the vehicle has an e-way bill, shipping bill, foreign invoice, exporter identity etc., the authorities should not stop the vehicle.
The exports are in time-frame and once the goods are transported from the factory warehouses, they should arrive at the port to connect the ships on time.
In addition, once inspected and factory-sealed export goods should not be opened to the port as per export norms.
Recently one of the textile exporters had an issue in Chennai as the goods going to Thothukudi port were closed by the Flying Squad for a few hours despite all export documents showing. The consignment missed the ship, he said.
